Our Activities

Our Club provides a full calendar of events for all of our members, catering from the inexperienced newcomer to the experienced competitor.

There are eleven rallies/year including the Show Day, and Little ODE. This means that the average member attends 9 instructional rallies each year.

In addition to these, there is the April School, Fun Day Gymkhana, Saddle Horse Show Days, Showjumping days, Littlies’ School, King River ODE and PCAWA ODEs.

In essence, these activities involve:

11 rallies/year, including Pony Club Show Day and Little One Day Event

Easter School for all members

Other schools for members and team squads

Participation in Zone, Inter Zone and State events, including Prince Philip Mounted Games, Showjumping, State Horse Trials, Pony Club Championships

Coaches Schools

Annual Camp

Fun Day Gymkhana

King River One Day Event

PCAWA One Day Events

Saddle Horse Shows

Emphasis is also given to horsemastership training and efficiency certificates are awarded by the Pony Club to encourage interest and improvement.

Competitions are held at inter-club, inter-zone, State, National and even International level. These are arranged as team events, thereby encouraging team spirit and sportsmanship rather than individual competition.

Selection for Club teams is by selection panel and delegates from each Club in the Zone select Zone teams. This selection is usually based on performance in the local Pony Club competitions.

The Club is currently enjoying great success in competition.

This is due to a solid foundation and emphasis is placed on the level of instuction; information booklets and brochures; administration/infrastructure; grounds and facilities; qualifications for Pony Club members; and, the continued development of a first class training venue to suit all grades and levels.
