New Members

There are a few simple rules with becoming a member of our Club.

Membership of Pony Club is open to any person aged six years up to and including twenty five years. Horses and ponies must be at least 3 years old and no stallions or rigs are allowed.

There are, however, some very basic rules and conditions to be followed.

All members, while engaged in mounted Club activities, whether at the Pony Club or elsewhere, must wear riding boots and an approved hard hat at all times.

The boots must be long with a heel or short and the hat must be an approved helmet at the designated standard.

Members will not be permitted to ride at any club fixtures unless they comply with this.

In addition, members must be nearly attired at all times. The Club’s official uniform consists of jodhpurs, boots, and white shirt with a collar, blue tie and a blue jumper/windcheater.

Club shirts and windcheaters may be purchased from the Treasurer.

While members are expected to present their horses in good condition, should a horse be deemed unfit, lame or in any way discomforted, in the interest of the horse, the Club reserves the right to refuse permission for that horse to participate in any activity until the problem has been rectified.

All saddlery and other gear must be clean and in good condition and well fitting.

It is also necessary that a water bucket and feed be bought for your horse so it may be fed and watered at lunchtime.

And if using yards please consider the condition that you leave them.

Sometimes it is not possible to find a spare yard, so horses can also be tied to a float providing it is still attached to a vehicle.

We welcome you to join us and have many years of happy riding with the Club.
